On 11 August 2025, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Jan Karski Institute of War Losses (ISW) and the Military Historical Office – Central Military Archives (WBH-CAW). The document was signed by Dr Bartosz Gondek, Director of the ISW, and Prof. Grzegorz Motyka, Director of the WBH-CAW.
The purpose of the agreement is to undertake joint activities in the area of popularising history and conducting research on the subject of losses resulting from World War II, taking into account the dimensions of identity, personal and property.
The cooperation between the ISW and the WBH-CAW is in line with the mission of both institutions. It serves to deepen knowledge about the multifaceted effects of World War II, with an emphasis on conducting reliable research and disseminating its results.
Thanks to the combined resources and expertise of both parties, it will be possible to initiate projects of scientific and social significance that will contribute to a fuller understanding of the difficult legacy of war.
