The historical and educational lecture entitled ‘The Glassworks in Jabłonna’ was another event in the series ‘Shadows of War. Meetings about Losses and Memory,’ organised by the Institute of War Losses.
In 1944, the Germans blew up the Glassworks in Legionowo – a plant that had provided employment for hundreds of residents for half a century. It was never rebuilt.
During the lecture prepared by the Jan Karski Institute of War Losses and the Library in the Śródmieście District of the Capital City of Warsaw, Dr Jacek Emil Szczepański talked about the history of the factory and the working-class community, and about what Poland had lost irretrievably. The event was partnered by the Historical Museum in Legionowo.
