INTERVIEW ON TVP - MEMBER OF THE JAN KARSKI INSTITUTE COUNCIL, PROF. ANDRZEJ PRZYŁĘBSKI
On 3 October 2022, the Polish government sent a diplomatic note to Berlin on the issue of war reparations. In comments for TVP, Prof. Andrzej Przyłębski said that this is the first step in obtaining reparations from Germany for the losses suffered by our country as a result of the war and German occupation during the Second World War.
The former Polish ambassador to Berlin stressed that an extensive education and information campaign aimed at Germans, who do not realize the scale of the atrocity of the occupation in Poland, basically reducing the war conflict to a Blitzkrieg, is necessary. The truth about the war and a change in the Germans' attitude toward their own history should become the foundation for reconciliation between the two nations.
